BIOGRAPHIES

Karen Fugle - Editor

Despite over a decade living in the UK Karen still pronounces the words bear, beer and bare exactly the same. NZ would be proud. Naturally organised with an enviable talent for multi-multi-tasking, Karen has always drawn lines on the right level in the right colour. She can't remember what she had for dinner last night, let alone your name, so created this website to store what would otherwise disappear into the dark recesses of her brain.

Karen is on the AEC(UK) CAD Standards Committee, is a regular community event speaker and hosts the UK CAD Managers Forum and EatyourCAD events.

When Karen isn't editing EatyourCad she paints, bakes a wicked banana cake, trips over power tools and toys and re-reads her collection of interior design mags.

Nigel Davies - AEC expert

Nigel has so many years- (you'd-never-believe-us) extensive experience within the AEC industry slaving as CAD Development Manager for several major engineering consultants, and now as a consultant to a number of the world's leading architectural and engineering designers.

Originally trained in structural engineering, Nigel worked as a technician for several years before getting made redundant back in the stressful early '90s and since then has never looked back.

He has something to say about nearly everything and regularly entertains crowds at major conferences in the US and the UK as well as contributing features to industry press. He is also chair of the AEC (UK) CAD Standards Initiative, developing off-the-shelf protocols, based on British Standards, for the structuring and exchange of design documentations.

Daniel Heselwood - more than just a pretty face...

Daniel is the resident Autodesk expert, having started on the front line of CAD drawing production, moving on to Autodesk reseller and approved trainer, CAD Manager and Consultant.

If it's Autodesk related there isn’t much Daniel doesn’t know. With AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D, 3D Studio Max and Visual Basic up his sleeve, Daniel is seen schmoozing at many of the Autodesk conferences giving demonstrations, training sessions and joining the odd debate.

Daniel loves anything with 2 wheels, he has a motorcycle for when the weather is good (he is definitely a fair weather rider), likes to keep fit on his road bicycle and enjoys thundering down mountain sides on his mountain bike. We are keeping an eye out for head injuries.
